The goal of the PhD Program in Theoretical Physics is to train independent researchers who can significantly contribute to the advancement of theoretical physics.
The general objective of the PhD Program in Psychology and Mental Health at Universidad San Sebastián is to train autonomous researchers to generate new scientific knowledge in the field of psychology that contributes to the understanding of the main contemporary problems and challenges in mental health.
The PhD program in Cell Biology and Biomedicine trains researchers capable of contributing to the knowledge about the normal and pathological functioning of the cell and apply this knowledge to understand and control diseases that require better treatments or lack of treatment.
The Program places special emphasis on transdisciplinarity and from this approach seeks to study and provide solutions to problems in the life sciences, social sciences and exact sciences.

The PhD Program in Chronic Diseases is based on the growing need for highly trained professionals with the skills to expand the frontiers of knowledge based on research into the pathophysiology of chronic diseases and, in particular, the study of these diseases in both female and male populations, their relationship with risk factors, aspects associated with their epidemiology and the effect of maternal factors on the programming of these diseases.
The PhD Program in Philosophy seeks to train independent researchers with the knowledge, skills and abilities to conduct autonomous philosophical research, responsible and with integrity, oriented to the generation of new knowledge and its communication in one of the declared lines of research: ethics, political philosophy and history of practical philosophy.
The PhD Program in History aims to train independent researchers capable of generating original and significant contributions to the development of historiography, who are able to dialogue with other related disciplines, to be inserted in the academy, as well as in the private and public sector.
The PhD Program in Engineering is based on the scientific and technological activity associated with three strategic areas or axes: Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials; Bioengineering, Energy and Sustainable Processes, and Data Science, Analytics and Operations.
